Today one of my colleagues experienced an issue when installing SQL Server 2005 Express Edition on her PC. It simply spends hours on “Setting File Security…” screen. After googling around, finally found this solution:

It appears that if you work in domain, the installation will do some verification on the domain user. A workaround is to: Unplug your network cable before installing.
