Island Red Cafe 红岛
You may have seen Old Town Cafe booming out everywhere recently. Island Red Cafe (红岛) is another restaurant of its type. It is located in Krystal Point, on the left of the Krystal Point Hotel. It is adviced to be there around 12PM for lunch or else it may be too crowded with mostly working class. WiFi is provided and you will usually see some people turning their laptop on inside.
Tsuruya Japanese Restaurant
How many Japanese restaurants is too many? Located in i-Avenue is another Japanese restaurant called Tsuruya (鹤屋). Judging from the environment, it is another hi-class Japanese restaurant. It has low tables in which you have to take off your shoe for dining.
BRAVO italiana dining hall
More than a year ago, I visited an Italian restaurant called Little Italy in Bukit Jambul (opposite of i-Avenue). It is a romantic little cafe “hidden” from the main road. Few months later, thinking on reviewing it, I returned to the same place but it has turned into a motorbike shop!

There are many Japanese restaurants in Bayan Lepas area. If you went to one of them in Krystal Point, namely Sobayoshi, sometimes the host will advise you to go to the one in i-Avenue few meters away if the restaurant is too crowded. Today, we are going to review one of their branches – Ichyo at i-Avenue.
Sparkling Apple (Nando's Specialty)
It may be too late to review Nando’s. Originated from South Africa, it has been in Malaysia for years and I already visited it for few times. That time I still don’t have my “weapon” ready so here are some recent photos.
Kawazu Japanese Restaurant
Those staying in Sungai Petani should know about a country club called Cinta Sayang. Before the club, there is a new housing area called Taman Tuanku Haminah with a row of shops in front, including a Japanese restaurant called Kawazu (河津）Japanese Restaurant.
Restoran Yaki Teppan
Located same row with Hakka Mee shop is a Japanese restaurant called Yaki Teppan. As the name applies, it is famous with teppanyaki. There is a counter in which chefs are preparing food on metal plates. When the restaurant is crowded, the dining hall may become smoky. The situation, however, seems improving now.
Traditional Southern Beef BUN
Located at e-Gate is a new restaurant called Miss Saigon, replacing existing Bequadro – an Italian restaurant. After reading some reviews, my first impression is that their food is kind of special so we paid a visit in one evening.
According to Wiki, Kerala is a state on the tropical Malabar Coast of southwestern India. Today, we save some bucks by enjoying the passion of Kerala here in Penang.
Bak Kut Teh (Original) Set Lunch
Rou Gu Cha (肉骨茶), or also known as Bak Kut Teh in Hokkien should not be a stranger for local Chinese. Once a local Chinese newspaper even conducted a tour to find out the best Rou Gu Cha in Malaysia. Today, we are going to visit a commercialized Bak Kut Teh shop in New World Park, Penang – Rou Gu Cha King.
