Hock Lye Seafood Village 福来海鲜村

May 24th, 2010 · 2 Comments

Two person, four dishes. We were 90% full that night and we had to take away some of the Siam Curry Red Snapper for next day lunch. This seafood restaurant definitely worth second visit. The place was spacious and quite cozy as well. The price was surprisingly reasonable. I was expecting RM100+ but ended up just RM91.70. Note that it opens for lunch as well. The place is usually not crowded during weekday as it is somehow hard to discover from the Jelutong Expressway.

Free Jasmine Fragrant Rice by Guang Ming Daily

Jurin Express @ Gurney Plaza

At first glance, the new management did make some improvement on the food itself. The maki and bento sets were satisfactory. The honey green tea was quite unique as well. Each of us paid RM50 for the above meals and I never expected I will be so full when dining in these kind of fine-dining restaurants (we did pack away some Maki). Since this was more like special ordering, we hoped that we could see the same food quality during normal day. Price factor remained unknown. Competition is high in that area and we do hope that the restaurant will sustain.

Lameizi 辣妹子 @ Krystal Point

At first glance, this restaurant did provide some quality soups for steamboat. This could be a place if you don’t want to wash your hair after the meal. Nine persons of us spent RM164.55, so each person = RM18.30.. so was similar to thebuffet price. The market could be competitive. We do hope that Lameizi can sustain in long run.

Chin Bee 晋美 @ 二条路

Even though this is just my first visit, I can nearly conclude that this should be a Choo Char restaurant to consider in town area. It serves some delicious home cook dishes. Perhaps an area of improvement was on the rice, in which it looks as small as sushi for me. Parking also can be a problem there during peak hour. Heard from my friend that there is another restaurant opposite of it but at slightly expensive price. Will visit both restaurants in future.
