Fisherman Wharf September Promotion

September 23rd, 2010 · 1 Comment

For set lunch, the serving speed was extremely fast probably they prepared upfront upon customer arrival. Soup could be a bit cold and I am expecting more crab meat on bean curds. However, with only RM9.80++ price tag in this fine dining restaurant, what are you expecting more? Plus, the rice is per head count (RM1.20 each). I finished 3 bowls today. Visit it on or before 1/10 (Mon – Fri) (12 Noon to 3pm).

Batu Maung Seafood at New Location

September 20th, 2010 · 1 Comment

Not sure whether is due to the move to new location, customers that night were not too many and we were the first customer that day around 6:30pm. The seafood definitely worth a try especially the fried fish in lotus leaves. You may just skip vegetables dishes. Sadly there was no more sea view in new location. Will visit it again.

Steamboat buffet at affordable price

September 17th, 2010 · No Comments

At first glance, the restaurant is more suitable for younger generation. However, I still could see some old folks brought by their children due to lower price for senior citizen. Healthy or not, I leave it to you. Anyway, you can’t complain much with this price tag. The environment could be extremely smoky so a bath is probably required. Make sure you reach early to avoid any disappointment. From my observation, however, some food are not available if you arrived too early. Also, I was told by another friend that there will be more choices when you go there during weekend, such as satay and crabs.

Operating for more than 30 years, the stall not only serves home-made coffee, but also home-made Kaya. This is probably a place to stop by when my US counterpart visit Penang. The stall operates from 1pm to 9pm and off on Sunday. It opens on all public holidays.

Thai Buffet at Affordable Price

September 10th, 2010 · No Comments

As a whole, food is satisfactory. There are some dishes which look “not-so-authentic” Thai, but you can’t complain much with RM30 (adult) price tag (don’t forget it is a dinner). Promotion valid for Saturday Dinner and Sunday Lunch until further notice. The restaurant has nice ambient and the desserts looks tempting. Appetizer/Main course could be a bit mild compared to normal Thai cuisine but I believe the Thai chefs are trying to cater for customers of different age groups. Do visit it ASAP before this RM30 promotion ends.

Nan Guang’s Kim Laksa 南光金叻沙

September 7th, 2010 · 2 Comments

Laksa is a unique food in which different people has different preference. It also unique in the sense that even in the same stall, the gravy quality could be different on different day (e.g. fish freshness/distribution). As a whole, I like lemak laksa in this stall due to its uniqueness, which tasted like otak-otak.

Siong Ho Fishhead 松和鱼头米粉和粥

September 3rd, 2010 · No Comments

As a whole, Claypot Fish Head is a must try, followed by Fried Fish Bee Hoon. Price is reasonable as well. Some seafood is seasonal-based so it could be just average sometimes. The clear and tomyam soup are satisfactory. There is a parking area next to the restaurant so it should not be an issue. Will visit the stall again.

Tho Yuen Dim Sum 桃园点心

September 1st, 2010 · 2 Comments

At first glance, the egg tart is a must-try but be sure to go there early. Dim sum tastes a bit sweet but still not bad overall. Price is reasonable. Food presentation is just average. Two of us ate until peng toh (overeat) plus tabao 4-5 dishes and it cost about RM37. Will visit the restaurant again as I saw some customers enjoying claypot porridge, which looked unique… Heh~
