It was my friend’s birthday and my friend suggested this restaurant due to its reasonable price. We reached there in one evening. The place is not hard to find. It is just opposite of Island Plaza – 1st floor of Prima Tanjung Business Center. The dining hall is well decorated with beer bottles, portraits, and an aquarium.

We ordered one Caveman Platter (RM68.00) suitable for 3 – 5 persons. It is mixed platter of char-grilled lamb, chicken kebabs, chicken sausages, chicken wings and pepper lamb sausages. It takes some time to prepare but the food is delicious. That was my first time trying out lamb and felt kind of warm inside the body. Served with separated BBQ sauce, the sausages look big and tastes delicious as well. They reminded me of the one in Ingolf Kneipe.

Chili Lime Sea Bass

We had chicken and lamb and was lacking of some seafood. So, I ordered Chili Lime Sea Bass. It serves with garden salad and mashed potato. Tastes good but unfortunately the fish has little earth smell.

These are our drink. I ordered Wacky Wizard (RM8.80), which is a delicious and wacky smoothie of mango yogurt and pineapple. Topped with few slices of watermelon, this drink tastes good. My friends ordered orange and pineapple juice.

No Eye Deer Menu

As first glance, the restaurant provides western food and beer at reasonable prices. It is not crowded during weekdays and the hosts are friendly. Just like the menu said, “No Eye Deer… great food, great ambiance, a place to come back to.”

Ever wonder how to access command prompt of another Windows PC on your network so that you can execute batch files on the remote PC ? PsExec allows you to do so. (Download link available below).

The PSTools package consist of many useful tools but today we going to talk about PSExec, one of the tools. Copy it to a convenience location and open a command prompt at local PC and issue the following:

psexec \\<remote_ip_address> cmd.exe /accepteula

Replace <remote_ip_address> with the IP address of remote machine. “/accepteula” allows you to bypass user agreement window and accept it automatically.

If you are working in a workgroup instead of domain, make sure the same Windows user account exists in both local and remote PC. If not, create one under Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management.

Note: If you received the following error:

The system detected a possible attempt to compromise security. Please ensure that you can contact the server that authenticated you.

It may due to the fact that both local and remote PCs are in different domain. A workaround is shown below:

At local PC, go to “Start” > “Run” > type in “\\<remote_ip_address>”.

You will be prompted to enter username and password to access shared folders of the remote PC. Do so.

Once you are able to see a list of folder, go back to command prompts and use PSExec.

That’s it. Hope you will take it into good use.

[Download PSTool here]

I personally own a Radeon 9600 AGP card on my good old Pentium III machine. Late of last year I purchased an LCD monitor with DVI input. Using DVI input, I found out that the image is sharper compared to analog.

The problem is, if you connected only DVI to your AGP card, you will receive a blank screen when reaching WinXP login screen (boot screen is okay). The only workaround is to unplug the DVI cable at the AGP card and reconnect it again.

If you connected both DVI and analog to the AGP card, WinXP is able to boot properly. When playing movies, however, you will still receive blank screen if switched to DVI mode.

After suffering from this method for months, I found out that the latest Radeon driver (as of today is Catalyst 7.5) did solve the issue. You may give it a try if you experience the same issue.

If you received “Cannot remove device driver” or “Cannot remove files” or similar errors when uninstalling Sony Ericsson PC Suite which came together with your cellular phone (my version is 1.30.8), it’s probably due to the fact that you installed PC Suite in location other than C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Mobile2. The error message will keep on popping up once you clicked the OK button.

To solve this, cancel the uninstallation. Copy the “Driver” folder in “x:\CustomizedPath\Sony Ericsson\Mobile2″ to “C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Mobile2″ (create the folder if necessary). Then only remove the program. The errors should not bug you by now. Once done, you can safely remove C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson folder.

As I am writing this blog, new version of PC Suite (2.0.53) is available on the official website. You should try it out :D

There are occasions in which XP boot up with a black screen saying that your HAL.DLL is missing or corrupted, and you are unable to get into Windows due to this reason. To resolve this issue, you need a good HAL.dll file, which is available in “i386″ folder of Windows XP installation disc.

Our objective is to copy hal.dll from CD to C:\Windows\System32. To do so, there are two ways:

1. If you have another PC, connect the hard disk with issue to that PC and make it as secondary hard disk so that the system won’t boot into its partition. Then, insert XP CD and copy that file to x:\Windows\System32.

2. If you have no other PC, boot into Recovery Console of XP CD (make sure your XP CD is bootable). Type”R” to enter repair/console mode. When you eventually reached a command prompt, type in the following:

expand x:\i386\hal.dl_ c:\windows\system32\hal.dll

in which x is your CDROM drive letter.

Restart your PC after that. Windows should be able to load by now. You may be prompted to install some drivers. Just let it install automatically (may take minutes to accomplish on slower machine).

One of my friends was having problem when booting her PC. The PC will restart itself after the XP logo screen. I noticed a blue screen appeared in very short period before the system restart. To actually capture the error message, disable “Automatic Restart” (press F8) during system startup.

Refer #8 if you not sure how to do so. The link also contains other useful troubleshooting guides.

It appeared that the error message is regarding UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME. Googled and found this link and the solution is working, that is:

1. Insert XP CD during system boot up.
2. Enter “Recovery Console”
3. Type chkdsk /r
4. Type “exit” once disk scan is done.
5. Restart your PC and it should be working fine by now.

The problem is due to a virus call Infostealer spreaded from thumbdrive when my friend inserted it into her PC. To remove the virus, restart in safe mode and run SAV or any other antivirus software to remove it.

My company is using Microsoft Exchange for their email server. Staffs (at least for me) will have 40MB email space on the server. I used to clean up my emails on the server so that it won’t exceed 40MB. Recently I faced a funny scenario in which even though I deleted emails and is below 40MB, the server still sending email saying that my mailbox is full. You can check the mailbox size by right-clicking “Mailbox – ” from the left frame, then choose “Properties for Mailbox – ” -> “Folder Size”.

After taking a further look, it appeared that someone enabled “Use Cached Exchange Mode” at:

Tools -> Email Accounts -> View or change existing email accounts -> Microsoft Exchange Server -> Change -> More Settings -> “Advanced” tab

This resulted in “Server” mailbox size is bigger than the “Local” one since both does not synchronize, and I can’t find any option to synchronize them.

To solve this issue, uncheck “Use Cached Exchange Mode”. Close and re-run Outlook 2003 again.
