Sungai Nibong Hakka Mee
If you come from Queensbay Mall to Pantai Jerejak’s roundabout, turn left, take the flyover, and you will reach Sungai Nibong area. On your left after the flyover is a row of shop, including Restaurant Teppan Yaki, and the one we going to review today, Hakka Mee.
Happy Cafe – Happier with Duck Rice and Fried Rice
Located in Taman Pekaka is a Chinese coffee shop called Happy Cafe (新开心饮食中心). It is a corner shop opposite of Tesco Extra and you can easily see it from main road. Usually I park my car in Tesco Extra and walk across the road to save some parking ticket fee.
Sambos Cafe – Good in Side Dishes
Located opposite of USM’s Bukit Gambir’s gate is a luxury apartment called Plaza Ivory. Rental should be expensive and some students are staying there. I wonder if there’s any rich girl staying there….

So you think Big Mac is big? Read this.
Once a while we will see someone made the biggest cake to share with hundred of people, but how big a person can handle with a burger? Brad Sciullo managed to finish 15 pounds (6.8kg) cheese burger at Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub in Clearfield, Pennsylvania recently.
Arirang – Beware the # of side dishes when ordering set lunch
Located opposite of Penang Chinese Girl Schools is a korean restaurant called Arirang. Compared to Japanese restaurants, Korean restaurants are fewer in Penang. Korean food is famous with its kimchi (a.k.a gimchi/kimchee). It is usually made of Chinese cabbage (baechu in Korea or 大白菜 in Chinese) stuffed with various seasonings. It is rich in fiber and vitamin C while low in calories. It tastes sour and little spicy. Some locals, however, may not able to cater for the taste.
Chu Yoke Weng is selling duck in Penang
“Chu Yoke Weng” is a real Chinese martial art character under a famous sifu called Huang Fei Hong (黄飞鸿). Initially he is a butcher selling pork. In Penang, however, you can see a restaurant with his name and surprising their main dish is Pi Pa Duck. It is located at Jalan Pekaka (opposite to Tesco Extra) and is called 猪肉荣琵琶鸭专卖店 in Chinese.
Nan Shan Coffee Shop – Easy and free parking
Each week I spend one evening jogging at Air Itam Dam. When traveling back to home, I usually have my dinner at Nan Shan Coffee Shop (南山咖啡店) at Paya Terubong (垄尾). There are many coffee shops in Paya Terubong but I prefer this place as it is more hygiene with easy and free parking.
