Chinese New Year Buffet & Steamboat @ E&O Hotel


With dual-earner families getting orthodox these days, it is more difficult for family members of three generations gather together during normal days. Even during Chinese New Year, usually those holding “housewife” title will be the “victim” of the reunion dinner. Most of the time, it is better to have the dinner outside to save the hassle of preparing and cleaning the food at home. Eastern & Oriental Hotel (GPS: 5.42361,10033472) can be a reunion dinner place to be considered.


As usual, thanks to E&O Hotel management, we were invited for CNY buffet and steamboat preview session this year. While waiting for the food to get ready, we couldn’t help ourselves but noticing staffs there also taking photos on their “masterpieces”. No doubt, E&O Hotel’s food quality there is one of the best in George Town area.

Buffet Dinner (24-26 January 2020)

Steamboat Ingredients

For our family, steamboat is a must-have during CNY but the preparation can be a tedious one. As an alternative, E&O Hotel offers you steamboat buffet with luxury ingredients including medium-to-large size prawns, fish maw, sea cucumber, salmon fillet, seabass fillet, red snapper, baby squid, flower crab, green mussel, bamboo mussel, clam, beef, lamb, and chicken meat to name a few. The steamboat buffet is available from 24 -26 January as well so the choice (buffet dinner vs steamboat dinner) is yours.

Note that steamboat buffet will be conducted at Planters Lounge, 6th floor of new wing, whereas the standard buffet will be at Sarkies of ground floor. Ample parking space is available in the multi-storey carpark at the new wing as well. For reservation, kindly call +604 222 3151.
