Eastin Hotel Penang is pleased to have their guest chef, Chef Tan Kian Seng (陈湕胜) who is specializing in Golden Triangle cuisine, acquiring more than 20 years of experience working in hotels and outlets such as Sunway Hotel, D Garden Hotel, Langkawi Khun Thai Seafood Restaurant and Golden Valley Chinese & Thai Seafood Restaurant.

In my opinion, the appetizers for this round is quite satisfactory. Laos Spicy Duck Salad is definitely worth a try. The yummy Thai Spicy Seafood Salad consists of mussel, prawn, scallops, cherry tomato, cucumber, and onion to name a few. Tom Yam Gung was too spicy though. As for the main course, Thai Green Curry Chicken is tender and fragrance with added herbs. Mohinga is a bit like mild version of Laksa. Laos Steamed Chicken Rice is similar to Nasi Briyani hee.
Laos Green Vegetables Stew consists of long bean, egg plant, celery, asparagus, etc. Photo above shows the actual “product”. Of course, for lunch buffet, they did serve some local cuisines as well to cater for customers with different preferences. Note that Golden Triangle full buffet is only applicable for lunch. For weekday’s dinner, it is semi-buffet in which only appetizers and desserts are free flow. Weekend’s dinner is International Full Buffet.
