Planning for reunion dinner for coming Chinese New Year (CNY)? Other than course meal, buffet dinner is a better alternative for big eaters looking for more varieties of food. Even better, have it in “Steamboat way”. We recently visited a preview session at Eastern & Oriental Hotel, George Town, Penang for its new steamboat package.
Enough of soya bean! Time for main course! Located at a walking distance were two Nga Choi Kai (Bean Sprout Chicken) shops opened side-by-side – Lou Wong (老黄) and Onn Kee (安记). I had visited Lou Wong last time so this time I paid Onn Kee a visit.
When I mentioned “the best” restaurant, there must be another “not-so-best” restaurant (NOTE: It still much depends on person’s taste bud). Funny Mountain soya bean was actually not the first soya bean stall I tried in Ipoh. The first stall I tried there was Lai Kee 黎记, which is a stone throw away. To be fair, I revisited this stall on the same day I visited Funny Mountain just to compare the taste.
You will like Ipoh if you like to enter holes… uh… I mean visiting caves. There are many limestone caves for tourists like me. After visiting some of them, my breakfast was gone and it was time for food hunting again. This time, I stumbled upon a small stall behind a shop with a funny name – Funny Mountain 奇峰.
