Da Shu Xia Seafood House 大树下海鲜饭店 should not be a stranger for Penangites. It was located under a shady tree (hence “Da Shu Xia”) opposite of jetty terminal at Weld Quay. Since last year, it had moved to a walking distance away at Victoria Street, behind BT Food Court.
Previously, we introduced some London cuisine at 1885 – the fine dining restaurant in Eastern & Oriental (E&O) Hotel, George Town, Penang. Today, we travel back to the past for their Yesterday’s Classic Set Menu.
It was a long Saturday in which we had to work from nine to six. Our eyes were like Mashimaro when we arrived at Thai Original Boat Noodle – a restaurant we decided to give it a try when venturing in Teras Jaya Business Park at Raja Uda, Butterworth, Penang. Our eyes immediately opened after having a sip of the soup.
For those who like waffle, they will probably fall in love with Hong Kong’s famous egg puff 鸡蛋仔 as well. The making of egg puff is pretty similar to our local waffle, except that it is molded into shape of eggs (and hence egg puff). Now, there is no need to travel to Hong Kong to enjoy this street food since 1950’s as you can grab one in Penang.

Last time, whenever my friend asked me for a good place for steamboat, I could just recall those open-air steamboat+BBQ places around town areas.
