Traditionally, Nasi Lemak is Malaysian’s famous breakfast enjoyed by all races. It can be found as triangle-shaped packages in coffee shop or roadside stalls. It is also not a stranger in some chain restaurants in which the coconut milk-infused fragrant rice dish is included as one of the menu items. Recently, we noticed few “Nasi Lemak specialists” popping out in The Pearl of the Orient – including Eat Scream (GPS: 5.41172,100.33118) we are going to introduce.

This year, Valentine’s Day comes earlier than Chinese New Year, which is also a good news. At least, you have no need to worry about body running out of shape when dining with your loved one. If you are looking for a place for romantic dinner or CNY Reunion Course Meal/Buffet Dinner, Eastin Hotel Penang – the famous business hotel at Bayan Lepas, Penang is worth considering.
BBQ Buffet Dinner @ Four Points by Sheraton Penang
After operating for more than a year, Four Points by Sheraton Penang (Four Points) is pleased to announce the launch of their very first non-festive season buffet dinner, namely BBQ Buffet Dinner.
The Cruises Set Lunch @ The One, Bayan Baru
For us, dining in a Western restaurant with dim environment usually mean one thing – the owner doesn’t want you to look at your wallet clearly, so that you will be less painful when paying the bill. Similar environment can be found in The Cruises Steak House. Luckily, their set lunch menu works well as a “painkiller” for cheap labor like us.
Idealite Gurney Plaza
After two years, it is time to go back to Idealite for another round of invited review, especially when their Bak Kut Teh (RM13.70) was in the list of Top 5 Bak Kut Teh in Penang recently, and was the only vegetarian Bak Kut Teh in the list. The Bak Kut Teh is cooked with more than 10 varieties of herbs and is sweet, light, and not greasy compared to non-veg version.

No Rice Cooker Here
Steamed Rice Noodle (RM2.50) – it was so plain that you can’t eat it on its own. Worse, no rice is provided at 王清发海鲜 Ong Cheng Huat Seafood at Bagan Lallang, Butterworth, Penang. Luckily, one of the food items we ordered was a perfect mix for this plain noodle.
Steamboat buffet at affordable price
It was around 5pm on non-working Raya Monday when I planned just to have a healthy fruit juice for my dinner. Then, my friend pinged me what to eat for dinner. I had few options in mind in which one of them is Town Steamboat 火锅之家, which I never visited before and was always crowded if late. Eventually we picked this “unhealthy” option due to budget constraint.
Finally, good homemade coffee and Kaya
Before going to Copthorne Orchid Hotel for Thai Buffet, Criz and I did stop by at an apartment in Tanjung Tokong for…. Hakka Coffee! It was recommended by Criz and seriously I finally found an excellent home-made coffee in Penang, not to mention the crispy aromatic home-made coconut egg jam sandwiches (a.k.a Roti Bakar).
