Other than Otak-Otak, another famous food in Muar is Asam Pedas – a sour and spicy stew dish. Unlike north region’s version, Asam Ikan such as the one above (RM53.00 – market price) was simply sour and spicy. You will start sweating the moment you put a scope into your mouth. We went there for friend’s wedding and were fortunate enough to be treated by the bride in Yu Tou Wang 麻坡鱼头王 restaurant.

Slippery and Chewy “Laksa”
It was a holiday weekend when I stopped by Yi Poh Restaurant 姨婆老鼠粉 at Seremban for the first time to try their Lao Shu Fen (老鼠粉) (RM3.80 Small). At first I thought it was short needle noodle commonly found in north region, but it turned out to be chewy Laksa noodle with slippery characteristic of Lao Shu Fen! A new experience indeed.
Fast Food Redefined
Usually I did not review fast food. However, after visiting 43 Cafe located at Sungai Dua, Penang, I make an exception by introducing you all their homemade pork burger which is prepared fresh daily (Note: This post is non-halal).
Crispy Pi Pa duck and QQ Pan Mee
Previously I introduced KhunThai. Today, I introduce its younger brother – Hun Tai, which selling only two items – Pan Mee and Pi Pa Duck. We went to this restaurant in Lunas in our recent Kulim eating trip.

Distance is not an issue
KhunThai Restaurant is no stranger to Penangites especially those staying in Butterworth. It was one evening I noticed a new branch opened in Penang island at Teluk Kumbar (right before Hai Boey restaurant). Last Sunday, we paid it a visit.
Missing home town? Try this traditional Tang Yen!
It was raining session recently and it would be nice if I could enjoy a hot bowl of soup in cold evening. Yes, you can do so by visiting this Tang Yen (Glutinous Rice Ball) stall at Magazine Road (more known as “First Road” (头条路) by local Chinese), opposite of Traders Hotel.
Something to spice up your day
I was wondering where to get dry bak kut teh in Penang island, and my friend recommended me this stall located opposite of Tesco Extra Sungai Dua, inside Seong Huat Coffee Shop 祥发美食餐室.
