Last year, we visited Vistana Hotel Penang for its Ramadan buffet. This year, we were fortunate enough to be invited again for the same buffet, namely Tok Wan 101 Recipes.
Whole spring chicken marinated with rosemary oil and Balsimic vinegar – a premium Italy vinegar made from white grape juice. According to the chef, chicken and balsamic vinegar is the perfect combination because the vinegar flavors suits the method in making sauces and is perfect as marinade for a chicken dish. This Chicken Rosmarino (RM58) was just one of the main dishes we sampled at the new Hotel Jen Penang, George Town, Penang.
Just between you and me, the lounge at G Hotel Gurney is our favorite stop-by when we walk between Gurney Paragon and Gurney Plaza thanks to its cozy and spacious environment. We will either use its toilet or take a short break on its sofa before continuing our journey into those shopping malls which rarely have any bench for shoppers to rest. We came across an article on Guang Ming Daily regarding an affordable place for hot pot in George Town and decided to give it a visit. We couldn’t believe our eye when we were told that an individual hot pot, which usually priced at RM10++, was priced at RM3 at Classic Cafe in Prangin Mall.
Our first visit to Coya Healthy Cuisine at Lorong Selamat was back in January 2014 and were pleased with their healthy cuisine promising three things: 1) Freshly prepared food, 2) No gluten vegetarian product, 3) No added MSG and preservative. Recently, they released a new menu and we revisited it again.
DCOVA recently launched its new menu. For us, everything is new as this is our first visit to the cafe. We seldom travel down to George Town for a cup of coffee as some of them have their coffee bean outsourced, making it lack of uniqueness. However, DCOVA has proven that having a cup of coffee can be both unique and authentic.
It will be a busy July for Eastin Hotel Penang‘s chefs in which both Peranakan and Ramadhan buffet will be served for lunch and dinner respectively.
