Sometimes in the evening I went for hiking at Youth Park. Driving all the way up to Youth Park took some times so I might as well enjoy my dinner somewhere around there. One of the stalls I tried was Mount Erskine’s Hainan Western Food 白云山西餐, a.k.a temple western food.

Hai Pin Restaurant 海滨海鲜酒家
Back in one of the raining July afternoon, colleagues and I went to Hai Pin Restaurant 海滨海鲜酒家 in Lebuh Macallum 五条路 for lunch. What so special about this restaurant is there are set meals in which you can choose certain number of dishes and the price is based on headcount, each for RM9. For example, eight of us only need to pay for RM9 x 8 = RM72 for the meal, with unlimited rice and Chinese tea. Is it worth the price? Let’s see.
Little Cottage 2 @ Waterfall Hotel
Little Cottage is not new in town. In fact I had visited it few times, mostly with female colleagues due to romantic setup (just normal lunch, no extra “co-curriculum”). There are two outlets in Penang island – Little Cottage 1 at Burmah Road (nearby CTY Aquarium) and Little Cottage 2 at Waterfall Hotel. A group of food bloggers were being invited to LC2 for a food review.
Fisherman Wharf September Promotion
I know it is almost end of September… but cheap slave like me only had a chance to enjoy this Super Value Set Lunch for 2 persons at RM9.80 (excluding rice and drink). Quickly visit it on or before 1/10.
Batu Maung Seafood at New Location
Woof woof (Welcome)! What a cute “sausage” dog I found in OCEAN Batu Maung Seafood Restaurant. Somehow he scared away when I “snap snap” him. I was looking for a seafood restaurant I never visited before when a friend of mine asked me for dinner. Googled around and found my friends, FoOdPaRaDiSe (here, here, and here) and CK (here) recommended this restaurant so we decided to pay it a visit.
Steamboat buffet at affordable price
It was around 5pm on non-working Raya Monday when I planned just to have a healthy fruit juice for my dinner. Then, my friend pinged me what to eat for dinner. I had few options in mind in which one of them is Town Steamboat 火锅之家, which I never visited before and was always crowded if late. Eventually we picked this “unhealthy” option due to budget constraint.
Finally, good homemade coffee and Kaya
Before going to Copthorne Orchid Hotel for Thai Buffet, Criz and I did stop by at an apartment in Tanjung Tokong for…. Hakka Coffee! It was recommended by Criz and seriously I finally found an excellent home-made coffee in Penang, not to mention the crispy aromatic home-made coconut egg jam sandwiches (a.k.a Roti Bakar).
Thai Buffet at Affordable Price
Today I bring you a long review on Thai Buffet in Terrace Bay Restaurant at Copthorne Orchid Hotel in Tanjung Bungah, Penang which is located next to Toy Museum with ample parking space. Don’t be fooled by limited car park along the slope. Turn right and you will find more free car park there. There is basement car park as well.
Nan Guang’s Kim Laksa 南光金叻沙
This is another quick-and-dirty review. It was one Thursday afternoon when I “snake” at home, and a friend pinged me asking me where to eat for lunch. I am having headache in comparing a series of laksa I tried at Balik Pulau during Durian Session (Jun/July). To be fair, I planned to revisit them again before writing review.
Balinese Chicken @ Kenny Rogers
Selamat Hari Raya.
Do you have this question when going to Queensbay – “What should I eat in Queensbay?”. It is not because the restaurants are limited, but cheap labor like me can’t afford most of the restaurants there. One day, I was shopping for a blender there and think of the same question for my dinner.
